This project involved capturing performance photos of an immersive theater experience directed by award-winning director Chris Ling of Theatrethreesixty. Using a documentary style, the focus was to convey the raw emotion and energy of the performance, creating a visual narrative of this unique theatrical experience.
The performance took place in 2022 at Tink & Tink, a creative workspace. The show, The Hyacinths Are Blooming, explored themes of mental illness, reality, and self-reflection in an immersive setup that engaged the audience directly in the story.
I was also given the opportunity to feature some of my street photography as part of the immersive theater experience, seamlessly integrating real-life imagery with the performance’s themes and atmosphere. Seeing my work contribute to the storytelling process added another layer of connection between photography and stage performance.
The immersive aspect of the show stood out, as it blurred the line between audience and performance, creating a deeply engaging atmosphere that was both intimate and thought-provoking.
