Commissioned to capture the spirit and energy of the Kuching Heritage Race 2025, this project focused on documenting participants as they took on heritage-themed challenges throughout the race. Organized by the Kuching Heritage Awareness Society, the event combined elements of exploration, culture, and community to promote greater appreciation of Kuching’s rich historical roots.

The photography approach centered on event documentation—capturing candid moments of engagement, teamwork, and interaction with heritage-focused tasks across various checkpoints.

The race took place on 10 May 2025, with Fort Margherita serving as the central venue. This marked a shift from the previous year’s location at Batu Kawa Old Town, offering a new historical backdrop for participants to explore.

Beyond raising heritage awareness, the race also functioned as a charity fundraiser, supporting underfunded local causes. The main challenge as a photographer was keeping pace with nearly 50 active teams spread out across the route—balancing movement, timing, and coverage to ensure a comprehensive visual record.
